Posting Policy
The following policy governs all postings to the MLA Members list. These policies will be enforced by the MLA Web Page Committee. Repeated violations may result in removal from the list.
- All messages must relate, however slightly, to libraries or library staff in Mississippi. Off-topic messages will not be tolerated.
- Advertisements are not appropriate. Announcements of conferences, workshops, publications, and position openings appropriate to the list are allowed. Brief follow-up contact info is tolerated if part of a substantive message.
- Virus warnings are strongly discouraged; only official CERT or CIAC advisories are acceptable. Check for hoaxes before forwarding.
- Personal attacks, name-calling, or insults are prohibited.
- Postings must be free of copyright restrictions that limit distribution. Posting copyrighted text requires permission and a statement indicating permission was obtained.
- Preferred format is plain text. Do not send MIME file attachments; attachments are stripped. Messages should not exceed ~10 KB.
