Position Summary Information

 

Mandatory        

Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited school. Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to initiate and maintain effective working relationships; demonstrable knowledge of databases and other library resources; experience with standard office software programs. Required to work at least one-two nights a week and occasional weekends.

 

Desirable            

Experience working in reference at an academic institution. Experience teaching in a library setting. Experience working with Serials and InterLibrary Loans.

 

Responsibilities               

Work reference and circulation desks assisting students, staff and faculty with their library and reference needs. Teach bibliographic instruction sessions as assigned. Create and develop reference and instructional guides in paper and online formats. Oversee serials and interlibrary loans. Attend professional conferences, workshops and classes.

Starting Salary

$42,000, but additional experience may be considered
